Five Special Touches to Add to Your Winter Wedding

Published On October 5, 2016 | By Renata M. Herrera Herrera | Wedding

Winter can be a really special time to say your wedding vows and get married to the one you love.

It’s also a great excuse to really dress things up and add a little bit of winter sparkle to the big day, so here are five special touches to consider adding to make your wedding into a winter wonderland.

Warm Up the Menu

If there’s one thing that we all love in winter, it’s a good hearty meal to warm us up! A nice hearty roast is always a good idea, so why not opt for a carvery-type dinner, where guests can choose their own meats and veg?

Another fantastic idea is to serve up some warming cocktails such as a hot toddy, merry hot chocolate or some mulled wine if you’re getting married near the festive season.

Light Up Letters

One of the most spectacular ways to put a smile on your guests’ faces in recent years has been to hire out some large light up letters.

Available from hire companies such as Light It Up UK you can spell out the initials of the bride and groom, their new surname or even just the word ‘love’. Whatever takes your fancy!

They make an excellent centrepiece or backdrop to your event, and however you choose to use them, they’re certain to add that ‘wow’ factor, especially on a magical winter’s evening!

Choose a Wintery Colour Scheme

Colour plays a big part in setting the scene for your big day, so it’s important to complement the cooler temperatures outside.

Deep and rich colours work well for your decorations, invites and flowers, but don’t be afraid to embrace some snowy whites and metallics, especially if you’re getting hitched in a particularly snowy location.

Luxury Loos

Perhaps not the most glamorous of features for your wedding, but one that needs to be considered nonetheless!

If you want to capture that winter magic through an outdoor wedding, there’s a lot that can go wrong, and the last thing that you want is for your guests to be queueing up in the cold waiting to get into a grubby portable toilet.

Thankfully, you can now hire luxurious portable toilets which will make you forget you’re outside at all, and feel more like you’re in a five-star hotel!

Utilise Candles

While the days might be getting shorter, you can turn this to your advantage by using candlelight!

They create great ambient light, and are a truly elegant touch, but make sure that they do provide enough light for your guests and also for your photographer to get some memorable snaps!

Consider really amping things up and making use of a fancy candelabra, you can never have too many candles!

However you choose to make your wintery wedding sparkle, we hope you have an incredible day and that the weather plays its part!
